THE MYTH OF CONTEMPORARY FEMINISM

The myth of contemporary feminism.  In the most recent election in Nigeria, a woman from Adamawa State ran for a governor. Since she declared her plan to run for the seat, feminists' voices have never been louder. To the feminist, the women's gender was all that mattered in gaining that support. The competence, plans, or track record of the candidate relative to the other candidates in the government, civil service, or any other sphere of endeavor is unimportant to feminist organizations. Her integrity, hard work, devotion, or commitment are none of the feminist's business. For feminists, the fact that she is only a woman is more than enough.
