THE MYTH OF CONTEMPORARY FEMINISM

The myth of contemporary feminism.

 In the most recent election in Nigeria, a woman from Adamawa State ran for a governor. Since she declared her plan to run for the seat, feminists' voices have never been louder.

To the feminist, the women's gender was all that mattered in gaining that support. The competence, plans, or track record of the candidate relative to the other candidates in the government, civil service, or any other sphere of endeavor is unimportant to feminist organizations. Her integrity, hard work, devotion, or commitment are none of the feminist's business. For feminists, the fact that she is only a woman is more than enough.

The woman was declared the winner of the election after what we now know to have been the most blatantly dishonest election ever. First, while the collation was still being done, the proclamation was made. Second, by a person who has no business participating in the collation and declaration process, as defined by the law. However, in spite of everything, the feminists avoided their gaze and celebrated everywhere. I think feminists would have been out front denouncing the election if it had been a typical race between two male candidates.

A short while later, INEC ruled that the declaration was invalid. Some feminists showed they had no self-respect by accusing the body of robbing the lady of her legitimate authority. One of the biggest displays of shamelessness I have ever witnessed is this.

This is short story is about modern feminism. Every evil is acceptable in the eyes of the modern feminists as long as it benefits women!

Recently, this false impression of feminism has been extensively disseminated. Most feminists today, especially the female ones, have some sort of misandristic philosophy in their minds, whether consciously or unconsciously. According to contemporary feminists, women should be given preferential treatment to that of men. Let's imagine, for instance, that a young woman and a young guy are both seeking for work. Although they have both submitted letters of application and are qualified, there is only room for one applicant. According to contemporary feminists, the hiring committee should only take that woman's gender into account.

However, those who identify as feminists nowadays do not hold the core concept of feminism. Simply put, feminism promotes equality. It simply implies that in all spheres of life—social, economic, and political—women and girls should have equal access to rights and opportunities.

It means that a girl shouldn't be denied the opportunity to work in a firm, the ability to attend high school, or the right to take part in party politics because of her gender.

The modern feminists are missing the mark precisely at this point since true feminism does not urge that the feminine gender be given particular priority, not even when their male hmm counterparts are superior to them in what is required.
